As a young man active in sports, Tom Kaser was occasionally bruised, bumped, and broken and would often find himself receiving the benefits of the massage therapy provided by his mother Renee Robison-Myers. Seeing how massage therapy helped diminish not only his own pain but also the discomfort of his mother's regular clients, Tom decided to become a medically Licensed Massotherapist so he could bring the same welcomed relief to others . After two years of intensive study, hundreds of hours of training, and passing his State Medical Board exam, Tom joined his mother in her practice At Therappe Square. Founded on the square in Wooster in 1990, At Therappe Square has since moved into the larger quarters afforded by an impressive Victorian home built in the late 1800s. Join us as Tom explains the benefits of massage therapy and the unique services offered by At Therappe Square;
At Therappe Square's first priority is to discover what makes our clients feel better and to lessen the pain and stress in their daily lives. In this day and age, blue-collar workers, physical laborers, athletes and even professionals who sit in front of a computer all day have major amounts of stress in their lives which, if not relieved, will manifest itself as pockets of pain and discomfort. By embracing the beneficial effects of therapeutic massage, our clients are able to keep their bodies in optimal condition and enjoy this proven means for preventative healthcare.
Each day we're confronted with clients suffering from fibromyalgia, back pain, arthritis, headaches, and tension. You can't imagine the pleasure it brings to watch a client's face transform from tight with worry and discomfort as they walk in our door to an expression of relaxed comfort on their way home. Whether they've come with specifically diagnosed disorders at their doctor's recommendation or simply need the tender loving care of a gentle massage to calm their nerves, we custom design a regimen to each clients' specific needs.
One of our clients had made the rigorous journey from New York City in search of relief from pain caused by a compound fracture of the bone in her leg. Although she had undergone numerous surgeries, she was still in a cast and walking with crutches. The expression on her face left no doubt that she was still in excruciating pain. After examining her scar and muscle tissue, I suggested she consider treatment utilizing our newest machine, The Contrast Stimulator. Invented by Paul Johnson, a personal friend of my mother, The Contrast Stimulator encourages vasodilatation and vasoconstriction of the blood vessels which creates a pumping of the vascular system by heating up to 104 degrees and then cooling to 56 degrees in a matter of minutes. After only a ten minute treatment over her wound, our new patient's smile broadened as she explained this it was the first time in eight months she had no pain whatsoever. We're honored to exclusively showcase The Contrast Stimulator's innovativeness by being the only facility in the Wooster area able to offer this treatment.
I always tell people not to confuse massage therapists with those who just give massages. Please check to make sure the person doing your massage is licensed by the medical board. Massage therapists are trained in anatomy and physiology and must pass a rigorous exam given by the Ohio State Medical Board. A person doing general massage is not qualified to treat health issues.
At Therappe Square provides a warm and loving environment designed to facilitate relaxing, healing, and improving one's frame of mind. Remember, our first priority is to make you feel better!
