Through the expertise of The Heart Group cardiologists such as Alex Nicolozakes, MD, Cyril Ofori, MD, and Paul Moodispaw, MD, the Heart Center of Wooster Community Hospital provides the Wayne County community with the most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic cardiology techniques available. The Heart Group, Inc. works very closely with Wooster Community Hospital who provide state-of-the-art equipment and facilities which enable these fine physicians the opportunity to live in our wonderful community while practicing high quality cardiac care. Director of Nursing Nancy Strausser, RN, and Office Supervisor Teresa Kendall graciously spent time recently teaching us about their vital services;

Most of our new patients come by referral from their primary care physician. Our physicians are on call twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, so they're available to cover all types of chest pain emergencies. Trans-esophageal echoes which provide very specific pictures of the heart and stress echoes can be done at the Wooster Community Hospital. Nuclear stress tests, EKGs, Holter Monitors, defibrillator and pacemaker checks are some of the specialized tests that can be performed on-site in our physician office. Wooster Community Hospital has a cath lab under the direction of Dr. Cyril S. Ofori, MD, FACC. Our interventional cases, like the balloon angioplasty, are performed at either Akron City Hospital or Akron General Medical Center.

Our physicians are all board certified cardiologists who are constantly involved in continuing education. They really stay on top of their game but it's not just their experience and expertise that makes them outstanding, it's also their caring touch and concern for each patient. For example, if a patient would require a more interventional treatment and needed to be transferred to the facilities at Akron City Hospital or Akron General Medical Center, our doctors would either follow them there or we would transfer their care to another physician within our group which enables our physician to have complete access to their records. For some of the higher risk heart patient catheterizations, our physicians spend one morning per week at the Akron hospitals working with their own patients. With twenty-five cardiologists in The Heart Group communicating as a team and sharing access to the patient's records, we're able to provide each patient a high level of continuity of care.

Our office staff is highly trained, skilled, experienced, and compassionate. From our intake person, who greets you at the door and enters your information into the computer, to our billing department, we strive to treat each patient well and address their concerns with care and attention. We work with patients to help them understand their insurance coverage and we always make sure their insurance needs are met prior to performing any procedures. We understand how stressful procedures are for our patients and we take the time to explain the procedures and answer their questions about their treatment. Our goal is not only meeting our patients' needs, but providing optimal patient satisfaction and meeting their expectations.
