After learning refrigeration and air conditioning during his ten year Navy career, Gene O'Loughlin wanted to start his own business. While working for another contractor, he looked for an area of specialization that would set his company apart from the competition. He found his niche and, in 1991, started TempTek Systems Corporation, the temperature control specialists. We listened spellbound as Gene opened our eyes with the wide range of possibilities TempTek offers their clients;
TempTek Systems Corporation is an industrial service company specializing in building automation, temperature controls, process refrigeration systems, and industrial ventilation systems. We design and install building automation temperature control systems and we also design, build, and install refrigeration systems for process applications such as supermarkets, food storage, and industrial cooling applications. We're licensed by Honeywell to sell and install their building automation systems and we're licensed by the State of Ohio as a heating, ventilating, and refrigeration contractor. Although we do provide service to customers from other states, the majority of our business is from commercial and industrial companies within a sixty mile radius of Wooster.
The temperature control systems that we install are typically for comfort cooling and heating systems but we also remotely monitor industrial security, fire detection, and temperature control systems. We provide and monitor the systems used to accomplish a wide range of industrial tasks. For example, imagine there's a bank's service center where the employees are on "flex" time and Mrs. Smith decides that she is going to go in at three o'clock in the morning to do some record work. She drives into the parking lot, dials into the building, and enters her access code. The building system that we installed recognizes Mrs. Smith and unlocks the door so that she can get in. The system automatically turns on the lights from the door to her workstation and turns on the air conditioning in the area where she'll be working. It alerts the security guard that Mrs. Smith is in the building and it keeps a record of when she arrived, how long she was there, and when she left. It's all computerized. From our office, we can monitor, trouble-shoot, turn things on and off, and even fix problems. We also provide some of our regular customers with complete preventive maintenance services on their mechanical equipment such as heating and air conditioning equipment, production line equipment like a chiller for an electrical E-coat system, or an air conditioning system for machinery that has to be kept cool to operate.
We work directly with our customers and we do work for other mechanical contractors, too. We've worked on the Nationwide Service Center in Canton, the Wayne County Court House, and we have control systems in a number of local manufacturing facilities. Aside from our area of specialization, we also differentiate ourselves from the majority of contractors by subscribing to a national pricing service that enables us to quote flat rate prices for our repair work. Flat rate pricing removes the guesswork involved with hourly rates and provides our customers with known, fixed prices.
We warrant all of our material and labor for a year at a minimum and we're have service contracts with all of our regular customers. Since we're providing periodic maintenance to their machines, we know the condition of each one and we keep the necessary parts in stock so we can make an immediate repair if they do have a problem. Any time one of our customers has a problem, we send out one of our three service vehicles immediately. Not tomorrow, not tonight, but immediately! Where else can you get service like that?
From systems to service, TempTek has the right solution at the right price. Call TempTek Systems Corporation today and don't forget to tell them that The Advocate sent you!
