From the time he was twelve years old, Tim Ice would ride along as Ray Weaver made his company's oil deliveries. Ray delivered home heating oil to Tim's family, and by the time Tim was sixteen years old, he was often found lending a hand at Weaver Oil Company. After twenty-five years as a full-time employee of Weaver Oil, Tim became the new owner on October 1, 2004. Although the name has been changed to Ice Oil Company, the company's commitment to service and dependability remains the same as it's been throughout the past fifty years. We visited with Tim and his wife Yevette recently, and listened as they told of Ice Oil Company's offerings;
Ice Oil Company offers gasoline, kerosene, home heating oil, propane, and diesel fuel. At our office we fill propane bottles ranging in size from those used for outdoor grills to the 100 pound bottles used for heating hot water tanks in recreational vehicles and trailers. We have self-service pumps that are open to the public for our other products, all of which are also available for delivery. We carry motor and hydraulic oils by the drum and by the case, in addition to antifreeze and 55 gallon drums of racing gasoline. We deliver to farms, landscapers, excavators, the State Highway Patrol, local townships for use in their snow plow trucks, and to residential customers throughout Medina and Wayne Counties.
For your home heating oil needs, we offer a service called our "degree-day system". Using each day's high and low temperatures, we apply a formula that enables us to calculate how much heating oil you've used. By doing this, we can put you on a delivery schedule so you never have to worry about running out of oil. This works much better than just trying to keep track of your heating oil consumption by yourself because eventually you will miscalculate and run out, usually in the middle of the night when you won't be able to get in touch with anyone to come out and deliver more. Even though our name has changed as of November 1, 2004, our commitment to service and dependability has remained the same. We're still the same people who were here when we were called Weaver Oil. I've been involved with the company for twenty-five years and know almost all of our customers, many of them personally. We stay very hands-on and make sure we deal with people on an individual basis. Our customers get to know our drivers and they learn that not only are our drivers dependable, but so is our entire company.
Since I've taken over, many of our accounts have become BP charge accounts where you receive a statement each month similar to a credit card statement. As fuel prices have continued to rise, we've instituted cash discounts to help counteract increasing oil prices. If you pay by cash, credit card, or check upon delivery, we can save you three to five cents a gallon on your purchases. We try to keep the prices down to the lowest level possible by keeping our overhead low and by offering discounts whenever we can.
