Sealed and Protected

With her experience in sealcoating, Dianna Headley was disappointed to learn that her employer had decided to leave the sealcoating industry. A local coatings supplier suggested she open her own sealcoating business and placed her in contact with a gentleman who was going out of business. With her husband Chuck, Dianna went to Salem to see if they could make a deal on the equipment he'd no longer need. By the time the conversation was over, Chuck and Dianna had purchased the necessary equipment and in 2000, they opened Headley's Sealcoating. During a recent visit, Dianna explained the services they offer;

Headley's Sealcoating specializes in sealcoating blacktop driveways, parking lots, concrete walks, and concrete driveways to protect them from the elements. We do driveways and parking lots for homeowners, churches, restaurants, and most businesses in the local area. We clean the surface, fill cracks and patch small pot holes, and then apply a sealer over the top to help lengthen the life of your hard surface.

Our first goal is to make sure your surface is clean and accessible. We'll weed eat the edges and clean out the cracks with a wire brush to eliminate all loose material that could keep the new sealer from bonding. The sealer is then sprayed into place where it gives your driveway or parking lot a fresh appearance and protection from the elements. Concrete is power washed and allowed to dry before we apply the seal coat which penetrates the surface and provides a protective covering. For new driveways, we recommend two coats due to the porosity of fresh concrete. We "squeegee" the first coat into place so there's ample material to fill the pores and the final coat is sprayed to provide a professional look and a tight seal.

We pride ourselves on neatness and carry roofing paper which we use to protect the buildings from over-spray and we always cut in the edges by hand to make sure the sealers don't touch adjoining surfaces. We strive to always be on time for appointments and on the day we do the sealing. We use only the best available material from Maintenance, Inc. here in Wooster to make sure the job lasts and we always make sure we're applying within the manufacturers recommended application temperature guidelines.

I'm on every job with my helpers to make sure each customer gets the best job possible and we carry full liability insurance. On large jobs, we furnish our customers with performance bonds when required. We do a lot of residential work in Wooster in addition to handling commercial accounts like Farmer Boy, Kauffman Tires, and the Kaffee House. Our estimates are always free and as we start booking for the season several months in advance, I recommend that everyone call for their estimates early in the year.

Summer will be here before you know it and it'll be time again for those yearly outdoor maintenance chores. For a great job on your walks, driveways, and parking lots by a contractor known for excellent service at a fair price, call Headley's Sealcoating today and don't forget to tell them that The Advocate sent you!
