Sooner or later, most of us experience the trials and tribulations of being involved in some type of a fender bender. Maybe it's minor, maybe major, but, these little bumps in the "highway of life" always prove to be a source of aggravation and apprehension. The best friend you can have at one of these moments is a technician thoroughly skilled in collision repair, and, if you're extremely fortunate, one who sets the standard for individualized customer service. On a recent Friday afternoon, we visited with James and Tracy DeSanto, owners of DeSanto Paint & Collision, while James taught us this lesson about the DeSanto Difference;
I've been involved in body and collision work since 1985. While working for other people, I wasn't convinced that the customers were getting everything they deserved as far as customer service, friendliness, and helpfulness were concerned and I decided that, with my own shop, I could be the one who greets the customers, helps them out, and makes sure that they receive top notch service. After spending two years looking for a location where I could open my own shop, this place came up for auction in 1996 and my wife and I really liked the looks of it. We came out, talked with the previous owner, and pretty much fell in love with the place on our first visit.
We opened the doors of DeSanto Paint & Collision in August 1996. Max Hinton had been the previous owner and he had been doing business here for twenty-nine years. He had a fantastic reputation for quality workmanship and we immediately began receiving return business from when Max owned the shop. After about thirty days, I realized that I was starting to get busier as the days went by and I just simply couldn't work one hundred ten hours a week. I hired my first employee a couple weeks later and we've basically added one new employee each year ever since. We have a total of seven employees working in the shop including two full-time body technicians, a full-time painter, a full-time detailer, and an apprentice technician. My wife Tracy handles the bookwork and a lot of our office work and I'm here all the time, every day, all day.
DeSanto Paint & Collision is a start-to-finish body shop handling all facets of body work. We do collision repair, full paint jobs, custom body and paint work, and the mechanical work needed to put a car back into pre-accident condition. Although we're not a mechanical shop, we do handle the full range of accident related mechanical work. We're equipped to do all types of diagnostics in addition to repairing airbags, ABS, air conditioning, electrical, glass, and performing mechanical work. We can do pretty much everything right here in-house and our customers appreciate the fact the we can handle everything for them.
The largest differences between DeSanto Paint & Collision and a lot of other shops is our lifetime collision warranty, our guaranteed color match, and our individualized service. I want to be able to know each one of my customers by name and, when they walk through our door, I want to be here to shake their hand. I personally inspect every vehicle before it leaves the shop and, since it's my name on the door, I make sure everything is right before the vehicle leaves. There are a lot of good collision centers in this area, but, we go the extra mile and strive for the highest quality!
When the fickle finger of fate puts an unattractive ding in your favorite vehicle, the staff at DeSanto Paint & Collision will take a personal interest in getting you back on the road quickly, safely, and in style. For precision repairs from a man who truly cares, call James DeSanto today and don't forget to tell him that The Advocate sent you!
